Museum Realm: Explore a New Realm

There are approximately 35,000 museums in the U.S. alone, attracting 80 million visits. It is estimated there are 54,000 museums worldwide. Museum Realm enhances the experience of visiting museums, providing information identifying museums by city location and other data, providing interviews with curators, exhibit features, focus on a specific museum, and other content.

An annual subscription of $8.99 provides access to the site's data as well as a subscription to the site's monthly newsletter.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency, includes among the 35,000 known museums aquariums, arboretums, botanical gardens, art museums, children's museums, general museums, historic houses and sites, history museums, nature centers, natural history and anthropology museums, planetariums, science and technology centers, specialized museums, and zoological parks in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and outlying territories.
